We will detail here the different payments:

Linear pay

We are introducing a new payment structure that will link payments more closely with the distance you travel from pick-up to drop-off. This will launch in Cardiff, Leicester and Manchester on 6 September 2021 and will replace the current pay structure.

What’s changing?

  • New base pay across all transport types for your first 0.5 miles travelled

  • New mileage pay across all transport types over 0.5 miles

  • Your pay is proportional to the delivery distance from pick-up to drop-off. The further the distance, the higher pay you will receive

Example 1: You are a moped courier and you complete a 2.46-mile delivery

Before: Under the old payment structure, you would have earned £4.50 (all deliveries 2.5 miles and shorter earned £4.50).

After: Under the new payment structure, you earn £5.31. For the first 0.5 miles, you earn £3.35 (base). For the next 1.96 miles, you earn: 1.96 miles x £1 per mile (mileage) = £1.96. Total pay is £3.35 + £1.96 = £5.31.

See illustrated below:

Example 2: You are a moped courier and you complete a 1.07-mile delivery

Before: Under the old payment structure, you would have earned £4.50 (all deliveries 2.5 miles and shorter for this transport type earned £4.50).

After: Under the new payment structure, you earn £3.92. For the first 0.5 miles, you earn £3.35 (base). For the next 0.57 miles you earn: 0.57 miles x £1 per mile = £0.57 (mileage). Total pay is £3.35 + £0.57 = £3.92.

Minimum Guarantee

Minimum Guarantee is like a safety net and is applied per slot (not per hour). To get Minimum Guarantee (MG), you need to meet certain criteria, which you can read about here.

Bicycle

£7.50

Motorbike/car

£8.00

How do we calculate MG?

MG is calculated by the drop price. e.g. you are a motorbike courier and you had a 2 hour slot, so MG is £16. In those 2 hours, you did 2 deliveries.

Under the new linear payment structure, these deliveries are paid as follows:

  • Delivery 1 (1.5 miles) - base pay of £3.35 + 1 mile @ £1.00 = £4.35

  • Delivery 2 (2 miles) - base pay of £3.35 + 1.5 miles @ £1.00 = £4.85

The total you earned for these 2 drops while on the 2-hour slot was £9.20. You met all MG criteria and your slot is validated. To reach the minimum guaranteed amount of £16, we will top-up £6.80 to your pay.

If you earn more than the MG price in your slot, you get to keep it all and we do not need to top it up.

If there were no orders coming your way while on the slot, we will give you the full amount (provided you met MG criteria).

If you did not meet MG criteria, your payment will be based on what purely you earned in the slot by doing drops, there will be no top-up from us.

Weekly top-up

Delivery rewards

Our current reward system is called the Multiplier. Full information about how it works can be found here.

Per-slot/per-drop rewards

We offer additional incentives in the form of per-slot and per-drop rewards. These rewards are incentives for completing slots/deliveries and will be communicated via SMS. This SMS will contain criteria such as the active date/time of the reward, the active zones, specific client (if applicable), transport type, and whether the no-show rule applies. To be eligible for the reward, you must fulfil the criteria in the SMS.

Other special rewards

When the weather conditions are not that good or a new zone is opened, you will receive an SMS with reward information. It will tell the date, time frame of when it is available, for which orders and whether the no-show rule will apply. This reward will be on top of your MG.

Cancellation fee as per your transport type:

Cancellation fees may only be applicable for these reasons, if validated by Support. These are not eligible for multiplier and/or rewards.

  • Bike - £4

  • Moped - £4.50

  • Car - £4.50

Bicycle

£4

Motorbike/car

£4.50

Return deliveries

If you have to return a package, you will be paid a full delivery fee for both deliveries (your journey to the drop-off AND your journey back to the pick-up). You will still see on your app that one delivery was cancelled (it will have an 'X' next to it) and cancelled deliveries are not eligible for multipliers rewards.

Multi-drop deliveries

If a delivery is a multi-drop (the same pick-up place with 2 close drop-offs), you will receive £1.00 extra for each additional delivery on top of your initial payment and rewards will be counted on top of the full fee for multi-drop delivery.

For more information please see here.

Detailed payment example

A bike courier has a Tuesday slot in Cardiff from 4pm to 7pm and has completed the following deliveries:

  • 1 delivery of 2.6 drop-off distance

  • 2 deliveries with a 1.5-mile drop-off distance each

In addition:

  • The slot lasted 3 hours

  • The minimum hourly guarantee is £7.50 per hour

  • Total minimum guaranteed payment for the slot will be £22.50 (£7.50 x 3 hours)

  • There was a multiplier reward on offer at the time (1.2x).

This would be your payment breakdown:

Delivery payment:

Delivery 1: £3.15 + (2.1 miles x £1.15) = £5.57
Delivery 2: £3.15 + (1 mile x £1.15) = £4.30

Delivery 3: £3.15 + (1 mile x £1.15) = £4.30

Payment for the 3 deliveries: £14.17

MG top-up (providing you met MG criteria): £22.50 - £14.17 = £8.33

Multiplier rewards (on top of MG): (£14.17 x 1.2) - £14.17 = £2.83

Your total pay for the slot would be:

£14.17 (delivery payments) + £8.33 (MG top-up) + £2.83 (multiplier rewards)

= £25.33
